Addefort Nigeria Announces Activities to Commemorate World Environment Day 2026

Addefort Nigeria, in collaboration with local and international stakeholders under the Nigeria Conservation Race (NCR 2026), hereby announces a series of activities to commemorate World Environment Day 2026.

Observed globally, World Environment Day 2026 is themed “Climate Action,” underscoring the urgent need for coordinated efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.

As part of the commemoration, a Conservation Walk for a Cleaner Environment will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., commencing from Allen Avenue and proceeding to the State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, with a reception and media parley scheduled at LTV, Ikeja. The walk will feature public sensitization campaigns and environmental cleanup activities along the designated route.

In addition, the Conservation Communicator-NG Virtual Conference will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The conference, themed “Climate Action in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities,” will include keynote presentations, panel discussions, fireside chats, and interactive sessions.

The Honourable Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, is expected to participate alongside other distinguished speakers. The conference will convene a diverse group of stakeholders, including environmental professionals, policymakers, corporate and sustainability executives, media practitioners, youth leaders, and community advocates. It aims to promote knowledge exchange, strengthen collaboration, and advance practical solutions to climate-related challenges in Nigeria.

Speaking on the initiative, the Lead Consultant at Addefort Nigeria and Convener of the Nigeria Conservation Race, Olabamiji Adeleye, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to environmental sustainability, stating:

“We remain committed to driving Nigeria’s race toward a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.”

The Conservation Walk is expected to bring together volunteers, government agencies, corporate organisations, and development partners in a collective effort to promote environmental responsibility and public awareness.
